Quick update - dealership said that the Linex bed liner was putting too much tension on the rubber bumpers and causing the gate to jam. The told me to have the coating removed from the area and it would be fine. I can't see that happening without a grinder and re-spray of factory paint, so I am going to keep an eye on the bumpers and see what happens.
No need to mess with changing the Lines liner. I just had the same issue with my Linex liner and my tailgate latch hanging up after my Linex was sprayed on my 2022. My tailgate was actually sticking out a bit past the taillights when closed, and so I trimmed 1/8" off the contact area of the rubber bumpers with a razor blade and the tailgate closes flush now. I loosened the tailgate latch posts and adjusted them as well so that the electronic latch easily releases and doesn't bind anymore. Sounds like your dealer is giving you bad advice on this issue since it's a pretty quick DIY fix.
