The next gen Explorer HCU, F5TZ-2C215-B (95 to 97?), also looks a lot like the F3TZ-A and -B and might also be adaptable (I'd be surprised if there weren't more like this too). If nothing else, the F3TZ-A an F5TZ-B might be a parts source for fixing a F3TZ-B.
Interesting link, thanks. Gonna mark it for future reference - in case we are unable to come up with the "right" part.
Problem is, with the exception of oil change, belt swaps, etc., I am pretty much past the point of doing my own automotive service, & I'm thinking that talking a commercial shop service manager into doing a conversion, would be a hard sell. For a couple of reasons, at least.
That said, it does sound viable.

- While Ford's own 96 service manual says that the part number for the Bronco' Electronic Control Unit is 2C279, that's wrong (those Top Men at Ford. Top. Men.). The one in my 96 Bronco is marked F47A-2C219-FA - not F4TA, as in 'T' for Truck, but F47A, whatever product line '7' is. Of note: one of the threads on fullsizebronco said something about Explorers of some year using the same ECU as late Broncos, which becomes relevant in another paragraph or two. My HCU is marked F3TA-BE.

- A local Upull JY just listed a new 95 Bronco, so I went to see it today out of concern that if these ABS parts were so rare that they might be some of the first to go, and in any case I want to start squirreling some away and late Broncos are somewhat rare in the JYs around here. Its driver's front corner had smashed into something pushing everything on that corner back to the firewall - the vampire that sucks the brains out of every vehicle in every JY for miles around here had already tried to remove the PCM but couldn't get it to clear the damage that had been pushed all the way back to it. So, even if any ABS parts had survived the crash, getting them out was going to be a lot of work.
They had some Explorers, though, and these proved interesting. A 93 had ECU F37A-2C018-BB and HCU F37A-AF, a 94 had ECU F47A-2C219-FA (the same as in my 96 Bronco) and HCU F37A-AH, a 95 had ECU F57A-2C219-CF (now located in a position that's a royal PITA to get out, and it's impossible to see the part # without removing it) and HCU F57A-AE, and a 97 also had HCU F57A-AE (too much trouble to remove the ECU, and since they'd already stopped using the one of interest by 95, not much point in digging it out). It looks like whatever all is in product line '7', Explorers are in it.
That the F47A-2C219-FA ECU was used to drive both the Bronco's F3TA-BE and the Explorer's F37A-AH HCUs, very strongly implies a lot of functional compatibility between those two HCUs (if not outright identical), so I pulled and bought the 94's ECU and HCU (these were both pretty accessible and easy to remove - I pulled the HCU and its bracket together, but next time will just remove the HCU from the bracket; 13mm flare wrench for the five brake lines). I'll ohm out the solenoids and test the pump on the HCU sometime later. If I can scavenge a few of the F3TA-BE Bronco HCUs (and those test good), then the F37A-AH will get dissected, otherwise a bad F3TA-BE will be at some later date.
Lastly, given how little the ABS system interacts with any other electronic system on these vehicles (apparently it only shares the speed sensor's signal?), I suspect that the 95/97?-era Explorer ECU and HCU could probably be substituted as a pair into a Bronco (I'd want to check the ECU's pinout first; harness changes would be necessary since these pumps have fewer wires through their connector, though the harness might be scavengeable from the donor with enough effort too).

- Code 25:
Front Right Outlet Solenoid Valve Concern Diagnosis
Possible Source(s):
- Intermittent open Circuit 498 (PK).
- Terminal backout in anti-lock brake electronic control module connector Pins 17 and 15.
- Terminal backout in anti-lock hydraulic control unit connector Pins 1, 4 and 5.
- Open or shorted outlet front right valve coil.
- Open or shorted driver in anti-lock brake electronic control module.

... so it could still be the ECU's portion of this particular circuit (as well as the wiring/terminals listed). The pinpoint tests (ohming the respective wires and solenoid coil) will have to be done to find the particular culprit (otherwise, it's a money-risking gamble).
