I use 2x10's. I also have the built right attachments to the front of my bed. guess it comes down to are you looking to save $$ or do you want it looking better than wood.

At this price point you cant beat them. I have one to keep the groceries in the back where they belong. Might get a couple more when we start camping again. The latch/ratchet mechanism isn't the best but for under $20 it's a deal
