On a trip to Chicago back in July our XM radio suddenly went off. I could not get it to change channels or get any sound. It was like it just froze on the station it was on and went off. I didn't think too much about it as after we stopped and restarted the truck it went back to normal. We just did a trip to Colorado and the same thing happened on the way out and on the way back. Again, after I shut it down and restarted the radio would go back to normal. This time I did check to see if I could still get AM or FM stations while locked out of XM, which I could.
Trying to figure out where to start. I'm not sure if it is an XM problem or a radio problem. My subscription it good until May of next year so they are not trying to cut me off. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this issue.
I too have experienced the same Sirius/XM behavior. No rhyme or reason to it. The sync 3 updates when in the garage by way of the house Wi-fi connection. @GMB Racing , are you saying there are dealer installed updates that go beyond what I receive at the house?
YES The updates over the air are software updates and what the dealer does is firmware updates, I had the same problem with my 21 F250 and the dealer updates seem to fix it. In the mean time until you can get in to the dealer, when it goes out press and hold both the power and forward arrow together until the radio resets (screen will go black then come back on) Just like restarting a windows computer.

Thanks, I'll try and remember this next time I'm in for service. OTD (old timers disease) sometimes messes with my memory.
One simple way to check is to go to the ford owners site and check to see if sync updates are listed for your VIN. There were some versions of sync 3 which caused issues with Sirius, but mostly with the Travel Apps.
