I noticed an oil spot in my parking spot when returning home and looked under my 2013 f150 5.0 v8 302 4x4 stx and saw what appears to be a small leak from maybe a tube/connector. Any idea of what this is and where/ how to go about checking?
Thanks in advance for any and all the help!
potential connector leaking note liquid marks on dry material under connections front end stain
Transmission cooler line connector, transmission fluid runs from the trans to the radiator and aux cooler(seen in pic in front of radiator) then back to the trans. the leaky fluid color should be pinkish/reddish in color, unless very dirty/burned, then brownish.
you can crawl under passenger side door and find fill plug with dipstick to check level, can do some searches here for specifics .
That is your transmission oil cooler line going first to the radiator oil cooler and then out the top to your air oil cooler. The bottom line out of the air cooler is going back to the transmission. I'd check your transmission level cold or hot, there are two markings on the dipstick. Wear gloves as the cat is hot and the engine must be running and on a level surface. Parking brake on and turn the A/C off too as I was getting water dripping on my face while trying to check the fluid level. I just installed the 10 row "Saudi" oil cooler on mine yesterday and had to readjust my transmission fluid. So it looks like the line to the coolers is leaking with the wet spot on the rubber apron. The return line from the under-the-truck picture looks wet too. I'd spray some brake clean on everything and get it spotless. Then see where the leak might be coming from. I'd first check your transmission fluid level. I'd check it full hot after you get back from driving it as the thermostat in the transmission will be open so you get a better check of the level.
OK, thanks guys! i looked it up a bit and saw there were some people fixing this by removing the quick disconnect and putting hose clamps over. Depending on rust some replaced the metal line to the tranyy too. I started it this morning to see how bad and it looked like there was a drop about once every 2 seconds.

any advice on repair?
How long do you intend on keeping your truck? If for at least the next year or longer, replace the lines. Yours wouldn't be the first to need those lines replaced.
Do yourself a favor and replace the lines back to the tranny. I just did this mine broke off while driving luckily I was 300ft from home when it broke. Lots of tranny fluid covered the whole undercarriage of the truck. The lines were around 80$ from autonation parts.
would you all also change the transmission fluid too? i think i have around 80k on it
i would. I just did mine at 100k miles. Drop pan , reuse gasket, new filter, reinstall pan. Trickiest park is adding fluid and getting level correct, which you're gonna have to do anyway.
i bought a case of LV fluid, think I used 7-8 qts.
