I think you will find all these run rich as OEM. All I can think of is it's intentional as a way to keep the engines cooler and keep from melting holes in pistons under heavy load.

Makes sense I forgot about that, air cooled engines are the same way.

Bruce, I think it’s going to be easy with air springs to get her to rest about 18 inches from stock ride height.

I'm gonna have to look at mine again when doing the front axle swap to see about getting some air springs in there. I like the idea of getting the front lower and improving the ride.

The 10btdc was awesome thanks Bruce! Hey so I don’t have a fan clutch do you? What do y’all think about adding one? I ask because the hack before me put in an electric fan and it’s just ugly! It gets hot here in the granola state and I don’t want to burn her down. What do y’all think? When did ford offer a fan clutch for the first time in cserise?

Btw the crane is more than I wanted to deal with and I called a guy who repairs them and said he can have it if he takes it off.

Pat, Glad to hear you got the timing working for you. I don't have a fan clutch on mine, just a old style fan. No info on when they started using 'em. I will have a extra power steering setup though when I swap the front axle if you need parts from it. Good to hear you have the crane issue figured out. I'd like to find a new home for my fire pump but I'm afraid it's gonna be scrap metal.
Keep up the good work...progress is just one thing at a time.
Bruce
