1. How long after a vehicle purchase before you see the points in your acct?
2. Share any tricks/secrets on getting the most bang for you buck ( points )
Mine showed up within just a few days. Less than a week, I believe.
Go specify a preferred dealer and get another 1,000 added (at least I was offered that).
I think the ford service credit card helps some, too. I got one to replace the discontinued quick lane card.
Ford accessories costs - like floor mats - purchased at a dealer will earn you points (but I think they have to associate it with your VIN).
I’m wondering the same thing. It’s been almost 2 weeks since purchasing mine and they still aren’t in my account.
Im debating on what to spend mine on. I didn’t want to use them for oil changes, but I may get them to do a basic oil change around 1500 miles and then start doing my own with Rotella T6 at 5k miles.
Besides that I was thinking about mud flaps and window visors.
Took several months for mine to show up. I had to keep asking dealer about it. Finally they did and now I have about 40,000 more than I probably should. They sound like a lot, but 75000 points are around $300 or so.
You need to make sure your email addresses are correct with your Ford Pass account and what sales is using for your purchase. If they don't correspond (check spelling), your points probably won't show up.
My points showed up about 24 hours after my purchase.
I used the bulk of mine for these fender well liners. [...]
I wouldn't spend points on the factory liners, as these can be had for around $95 through Advance Auto Parts. Well traveled, lots of discussion and comments via search.
Best to spend them on something that you can only get through Ford, such as the Super Duty embossed hood deflector or the Super Duty bed mat, e.g.
Otherwise, there really aren't deals to be had. Most of the deals that Ford offers are through coupons and such that work through the online storefront ... but FordPass points cannot be used via the online storefront. It's mainly a ploy to try to get you hooked on Ford Service. So, they give you points and then make it really difficult to use the points, and Ford forces you to go to the dealership to use them. Typically, only the service department has any clue on how to redeem them and, again, this isn't by accident.
Mine showed up about 3 weeks after purchase, then I called dealer service dept. & had them order me a console vault and one oil filter. That used almost all of it. I installed the vault myself.
Open Fordpass app…click account…click Fordpass rewards (shows 0) but still click it, click view activity, click missing points, click new vehicle purchase (enter proper info), and Ford pass points should then refresh.
Mine showed up in 13 days. Then used at dealership to get the SD bed mat. Good quality - way overpriced - but says SD on it and I didn't have anything else I wanted from Ford.
As mentioned, most everything can be had cheaper from aftermarket. If you haven't heard of the Amazon Warehouse trick - can get great deals. Trick: on amazon search bar select "Warehouse" vice "All" -- then search for item and in the "price" section select more options and look for "Used - Like New" ... Those items are essentially the ones whose boxes were damaged or items that were returned as incorrect and not "opened". I got a set of Husky mud flaps (all 4 -- the box was dented but flaps were still in plastic wrap) for $22; Husky weatherbeater floor liners (front and rear; same thing - box messed up, but liners still wrapped in plastic) for $85; and more..... the only catch is that you of course have to keep checking back fairly often to see if a "used-like new" is available.
So I used my pass points to get the rubber bed mat from Ford.
I’ve bought several vehicles in the last 4 years (2 super duty’s, 1 f-150 and an edge ST). I always got my points very quickly. I had over 275,000 points. I got a set of Rigid fog lights and a hard 4 fold tonneau cover. Got an oil change 2 weeks ago and still have 27,000 left.
