I went out and bought one and then looked at the install. Says you have to pull the driving lights. Is there any way around this?? I also want to get a light bar for the front can you combined both infront?
I have a front receiver on mine. We had to pull the light brackets and install them on the outside of the bumper and squeezed them through the opening in the original spot(its a tight fit). I plan on taking a plasma cutter and making the opening just a a tad bit larger so I can remount them on the inside (about a 1/4" of cutting). I also had to bust off the lisence plate holder (they require one in Wa. State) and fabbed a receiver type one to carry the plate (to clear the receiver opening). I'll check your profile and send you a pic. Its a great look, I think. I too would like to put a light bar, but have to check clearances and such with removable winch set-up, I dont think it'll work without extending the winch receiver which in turn could be a little dangerous when pulling at odd angles. Any suggestions you have on this I would appreciate also. Thanks.
I also wondered about the plates. Looks like you bumper is sitting out a bit?? Maybe the pic angle. how dose the jumper cable rig work.
Thanks for being so helpful i want to put on of those flat rack carry units on the front to carry a cooler and firewood. If i have on in back it gets in the way of the door to the camper. But looks like the jump cable rig is a must!!!
As for the winch have no clue. I did see a warn that mounted behind the bumper. It did make the bumper stick out a bit (4") but it looked clean. And the driving lights go..but i bet you would think of somthing...thanks
I see your back...did you get my e-mail? I'll send a few pics your way. Send me your # If you feel comfortable and I'll give you a call if needed. No problem here.
I made one using the factory crash bar and a 12" long 2" receiver tube I bought at a trailer store. It cost me $22 and took about 2 hours and I didn't have to move the lights. I can give you more info if your interested.
ya thanks for the pics I am going to get rolling on the install as soon as the old man get up here for the holidaz. I am sure youll here from me on this with more questions. thanks again
I have a home made one that does not need the fog lights moved and works well I put my 8000 LB winch in it check my pics in web shots to see installed.
