SURGING

‘02, 6.8L, 4WD, 166K. Truck runs down the road at highway speed no issues, as you start up a hill it starts to sputter, step on the gas the stutter goes away. Code P0720 was thrown, I replaced the trans output speed sensor, problem still exist. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

sounds like possibly fuel filter needs replaced.

Changed the filter about 2years ago when I changed the fuel pump, about 12K ago

Step on gas no sputter.. What does step on gas do? It doesnt add more gas.. It adds more air.. So if adding more air solve or at least hides issue. I would think issue is too much gas AKA leaky injector.. Thats my thinking..
