Exaust

Hello everyone my 1975 ford f250 with a stock 360 with most likely the original carb and also has the original single exaust. So my question I would like to replace the original exaust because its worn out. So my question is when I replace it at like a muffler shop can they put a dual exuast on it that would make it sound better with everything else being stock. It sounds good know but I would like a little more rumble and truck sound so would dual be a better option or no. I want something not so much louder but more rumble. So little louder but not crazy loud?

Duals would be a good upgrade. The muffler you choose is going to have the most to do with how she sounds. Check out flowmasters . There are plenty of youtube videos out there that show how each model of flowmaster sounds so you can choose what you like best.

On a stock 360 dual exhaust is strictly for sound. you can get a nice tone out of it but smaller displacement stock engines are only going to sound so good.

a dual 2 1/4 system would be more than enough but stepping up to 2 1/2 would sound better. I have a dual 2 1/2 system on my high boy with a pair of 48" glass packs . it sounds fantastic, better than most of my cars actually. I do have headers and a 428 so that helps but I'm sure you'd be happy with it. a nice deep mellow tone with no backwards hat punk thing going on.

My '73 360-2v has shop-made dual exhausts with deep mellow mufflers, and it sounds pretty good. Any good exhaust shop can build a system that will meet your needs. If you can afford the cost, go with a fully stainless steel system, including the mufflers, so it will last for many years. A second choice would be aluminized steel, but it won't last as long as stainless. Regular untreated steel will rust out in a few years, especially in damp or salty climates. I recommend having a crossover pipe installed. Ford engines like it better when there's a crossover pipe to balance out the exhaust pressures. My truck's previous owner did not have one put it, but I intend to.

Wouldn't a dual in/dual out work the same as a H-pipe?
