I am still trying to find a nice sound for my 1988 ford f-150 302. I have had a 40 series delta with and without a tailpipe and a turndown. I have an original 40 series, 1 in 2 out, but dont even have the 100$ for the tailpipes, so i am currently trying to sell my new delta 40 series and tailpipe.
1st question; Will there be a sound difference between the stock tailpipes(that have a "___n___" u in it) compared to a straightpipe from the muffler outlet and turned at 90º?
I have done some searches, and found the cherrybomb was good sounding, but on duals..
Has anyone put it on a single exhaust?
We do have about every exhaust law here in MN, but i think the cherry bomb glasspacks are DOT approved. That being said, i am trying to get a sound that barely legal
On my 89 with a 302, I had a single glasspack and sounded like crap. I just changed the factory muffler out on my 03 supercrew with a 5.4 to a 40" cherry bomb and that thing sounds sweet, deep rumble similar to a warlock but has a little crack when you get on the throttle. Also noticed mileage went up nearly a full mpg and the throttle response is quicker too. There is a little resonance in the cab but i"ll turn up the tunes!
