As 2022 F-150 Lightning production begins, Ford shows us the high-tech plant that's building it.

I thought Ford is building a new plant in West Tennessee for the Lightning and a new plant in Kentucky to make the batteries.............

Ummm, if you know what you said is true, why do you want or need comments?. 🧐

Just curious. 🤔

The new plant is already in operation at Ford Rouge in Michigan, the batteries are made at the same plant, different building. Here's an eye opening indepth look at preproduction models being built. The Michigan commitment they call it at the 10:26 mark of the video.

I hope I'm wrong. Hate to have 500 million dollars of Tennessee's tax money wasted. Here is a link about it on another Forum. https://www.f150forum.com/f2/electri...nessee-509645/

Looks like the plants will be finished in 2025.

Only problem I see for this great Lightening is those 1800 lb Battery power control assemblies, those plants have got to be huge. 1000's of acres under roof ?

Seems like a good read, cheaper shorter ranged batteries possibly !

Analysis: Tesla's iron-based battery plan paves way for Chinese in U.S. (msn.com) FIRE safety may be the key words here ! Think Tesla has recognized the costs of Nickle even with its involvement with Nickle mines as compared with Cheap Chinese Iron mix. Most likely for Asian consumption but ? Who knows when it comes to daily commuting needs. say less than 200 miles !

Yea, TN TAX money that SHOULD have been spent on the roads in Tennessee.

I drove big pipe truck all over Middle TN that past 2 years. 150 mile radius of Nashville. Drove 30k miles per year. The roads in Middle Tennessee are absolutely disgusting. Worst roads I've driven on since being in Pennsylvania back in the 1970s. NO EXCUSE for such shiittty unkept roads at all.

We left Murfreesboro 2 months ago to move to a much poor State. Alabama. Most ALL the roads down here are a dream! ****t, even the dirt roads are better than I-840 in Nashville.

Heh, I experienced the same thing when I left Louisiana and moved to bama. Blew my mind when I saw the 55mph sign on a dirt road down there.

We’re a truck forum, not an asphalt quality or civil engineering one. I’m sure there’s one out there somewhere.
