Another thread has prompted me to ask everyone to contribute to a list of initial quality issues found in the first 500 miles of owning a new SuperDuty.
What did you find when inspecting your truck on the day of purchase?
What did you find once you got it home?
What did you find in the first 500 miles?
I'm looking to put together a checklist we can take to the dealership with us when we pick up our new rigs...
Please try to keep this short and only include photos if it is difficult to describe the issue.

1) Truck was in perfect condition.
2) The truck was still in the same condition.
3) An airbag computer went out at 340 or so miles and needed to be replaced.
Seriously?
What is there to look at? These things are rammed together so quick they are coming off assembly line every minute or so. Its an F-series, not a Ferrari.
No issues in 20k miles. 1 recall for the floor mat. Truck has been to the dealer 3 other times since purchased, twice for (free) maintenance and once for hail damage repair.
Mine had a cloudy paint issue on the fuel door, bad panel gap between hood and fender and a bad rattle inside the cab when going over bumps.
I've had it a month, all issues were present when I first got the truck, but body shop was backed up over 3 weeks, so they are working on it now.
- Air conditioning worked for two days then took a dump, techs found the system empty so theres a leak somewhere. Dont need it now but took forever to get an apt for them to check it out.
- Annoying squeak from I think drivers rear. Im thinking shock bushing, leaf bushing etc but they can check it out when im in for the A/C.
- Same squeaks/creaks from interior plastic from the same spots as my previous two superdutys. Ive fixed them all with felt tape and white lithium grease.
- Clicking noise occasionally (seems temp dependednt) from drivers and drivers side rear door upper hinges. My 2019 did the same but much louder. Never got an anwser on the 2019.
- Decent drip of paint on inside of drivers door. Normally Id flip, but I laughed when I found it as its a reminder of my 6 month pergatory wait.
- Thats about it as of now, truck is perfect besides the previous!
