Ooooohhhh that's a nice Ram, congrats on your new to you ride.
The 6.7/68RFE (that's if it's an auto) will serve you well, our 2016 ram 3500 CC 8' flat bed company tow/material mover mule, just hit 260k on stock everything minus the DPF and cat, other than that very robust powertrain. And again if auto cange both trans filters on every trans service and be carefully when installing the seal/grommet that seals the big filter very easy to fudge the seal up if it's not align properly.
Thank you for all of the contributions you have given to this community during your time here, you have been instrumental in a lot of ways. Just because you have a RAM, doesn't mean you have to leave the FTE.
I wish you the best of luck with your sale if the 7.3L PSD.
Thanks, yeah it's the 68rfe, picked it up with 40k miles.
I'll still be around, I've got a few friends with 7.3s that I get questions from regularly.
Good to hear you will be hanging around with us still.
What is the color of the RAM? The light on it makes it look silver in some places and a pale tan of sorts in other places. Any other pictures you care to share with us?
I would love to have a truck like that, but it is just not feasible at this point in my life. Maybe once we pay the mortgage off in 10 years...
If you list the ole 7.3L in the Marketplace here on the FTE, don't forget about the sticky thread here that I have linked below.
the color is "white gold pearl" I flew out to SLC to pick it up last week.
Much more comfortable than the 99. I'll be hauling my daughter's car along with all her stuff to NY next month, not exactly a heavy load but we'll see how it goes.
as for the 99 I'm not going to list it till I'm sure it's 100% it might wait till after my trip.
Are RAM/Dodge transmissions good now? Honest question as I have no clue about the newer transmissions.
i did not like my 2012 stock trans or ecm tuning at all.
i used h&s minimax and with mcc and tweaked h&s tunes myself and got the trans to shift amazing after alot of trial and error . I combined different trans tunes woth diff power levels. I put 100k trouble free miles on it with decent amount of 10-14k towing
Truck and the tuned 6.7/68rfe was an absolute beast towing
sold to my former BIL who beat the hell out of the truxk and lived in Appalachian mountains.
now a friend of mine owns it and its getting close to 200k. Still shifts great
Those 4th gens are pretty solid rigs. If I had to go newer I'd try to find a 17 or 18 with the G56. 5th gens they went to the CP4 fuel pump on the 19's and 20's and got rid of the manual trans so those wouldn't suit.
Man I am REALLY jealous. That is a nice Ram for sure, and the Mega Cab is the one to be had. I have been toying in the back of my mind with going newer. With these reports here, this truck will be on my list to consider if I go the route of getting rid of mine as well. Does "dropping weight from the exhaust" mean what I think it does? Looking forward to hearing the reports.
if it's not I'll be back here to complain.
Monday the truck will be losing some weight from the exhaust.
no major modifications for this truck
Was the Aisin ever a consideration for you or was it just not in the cards?

@Brandonpdx , didn't RAM go back to the CP3 HPFP for 2021 due to the inconsistent service of the CP4?
