Gen Y makes a mighty fine hitch. Expensive, but seem to be good stuff. Should be cheaper direct from manufacturer too, that amazon listing looks wrong.

I suppose this would help some of the half-ton situations where they are within their tow and tongue limits but overweight on their cargo capacity.

This may not be so dumb. Pintle mounts can move around a lot. And this is on the trailer, not the hitch.

I have a shocker HD. It does help a little bit. Better design than the Gen-Y IMO but still not top of the line. That would be the Air Safe but those are pricey. Too much for me.
