Just got my 2022 F-350 and FORD changed the hitch from a 3 inch down to a 2 1/2 inch hitch. Now my B&W 3 inch and Anderson WDH are useless. Does anyone know if an earlier year 3-inch hitch is compatible? Really in a bind, Was going to take my trailer to the dealer for warranty work, but that's not happening.
Did you get a Gasser? I just picked up my 2022 F-350 6.7 Crew Cab Shortbox Lariat Ultimate and it came with a 3" receiver and and 2.5" reducer/sleeve that can be removed. Or I suppose you could have gotten a SuperCab or Regular Cab in the SRW too, and still got the 2.5"
Yeah, I just remembered the 160 is the CCSB and the 176 was the CCLB. I figured the 164 was the SCLB but wasn’t sure.
I also didn’t see if the OP clarified what he had either. I’m curious if Ford did change up his receiver or if he was expecting the wrong one.
I don't think he posted again. If he does have the SCSB then he got the correct reciever and just mistakenly expected the 3". The guide you posted and the one posted earlier in the thread point to the 2.5" being correct for that configuration.
Looking at Tasca Parts it doesn't appear to be to hard to change out just the hitch on the truck. It will be harder to figure out the correct part number.
That's exactly the case. I didn't order the Heavy Duty Towing package.
I don't understand.....you have an F-350, the Heavy Duty Towing Package is an F-250 option. Have you posted what cab/configuration you have? If it is a Super Cab short bed, that explains the 2.5" reciever.
I have a 3" Weigh Safe hitch so I wanted a 3" receiver hitch for my truck. I found one on FB Marketplace for $70. I had to drive 2 hours to get it but it was worth that to me. It was a take off from a brand new (2020) F-350 that had a slide in camper installed. Never been used. 21,200 lb. trailer and 2,120 lbs. tongue weight rating. Could have been a 20 minute job to swap out except Ford put four of the bolts that hold the hitch to the frame in from the top so I had to lift the bed to get to them.

They engineer them to Assemble, Not Repair or work on !!
The pita is that it probably makes no difference to assemble with bolts
one way or the other !!
Yep, the four bolts that go in from the top are easily installed as the truck rolls down the line, no bed on yet. Once the bed is on there's no way to get to them and get enough leverage to break them free. They are torqued down pretty tight !!
