I live in a rural area. Many young men have a diesel truck even though they never tow or haul a thing. And of course, they are deleted ( rolling coal ) and unmuffled. It's all about "look at me". They are incredibly loud and annoying. I refuse to give them the satisfaction of looking at them.

had some knucklehead in a newer Ram pulling a trailer cut me off. Definitely full delete. He pulled the coal rolling crap on me. Total d bag. Then, he wasn't laughing at all as he coal rolled us with the State Police right behind him. PoPo pulled him over. We drove back by 30 minutes later on our way back from the marina and Po Po brought out transit police too. My guess is that move resulted in a pretty hefty fine.

Not to start an all out war here (which will happen, so I guess I know my own actions), but why is it this generation of people seem to think owning a diesel gives them super powers? . The demographic with the truck group is the same. White males, 25-60. I am in the demographic as well, but i just don't get the issue their having.

Ya got me beat. I have 1 year and 10 months and then a full pension to go home making the same as if I worked! No brainer! But I suspect I will get a job and continue on because I will be only 53. I want to try and go to 65 and call it total quits. Would love to move to Wyoming and buy a decent spread with hardly a neighbor and left alone…..me, the family to include the dogs, the beautiful night sky and my Lord!

The older I get I find I am not politically correct nor wish to be.

Well, I will be just 51 and 11 months when I can retire. The political correctness is hard. The older I get its harder to deal with the idiots, all their politics aside. I can deal with strong right or left views.

Many years ago, nearly 30 to be exact, a friend of mine who was a salesman at a local Ford dealership told me reason truck and SUV prices skyrocketed was due to women mainly. They saw more and more wanting to be like the boys. Bad thing was, the boys used their trucks to work too. But the demographics are what businesses watch, they knew if this was the trend, prices could creep up and before we all knew it, prices were crazy!

Today it’s the idiot millennial generation that buys up these things and why manufacturers cater to them and why the insides look like Cadillacs now days and approach $100k and over on some! These idiots for the most never got dirt under their nails much less need a “Man’s Truck”!

We are left to suffer who actually work ours to pay the extra premium!

Funny. I'm an X'er. I grew up with ford trucks. Had almost every combination from 1972-1978. My "I have arrived" car was a classic Mercedes S-Class, that I bought used.

My three most liked cars I had were and really no order of importance:

- 1971 Ford Torino GT all original from original owner.
- 1965 Chevelle SS with a 4 speed in the floor.
- 1983 Toyota Celica GT I had in high school and college.

I can’t even begin with the motorcycles as they all had attributes I liked. But the British made Triumph Tiger 1050 was a sweet bike I miss.

As to I have arrived……..I don’t think that will ever be as I have yet to get that one that really tweaks me that way. However, if I could ever lay my hands on a 1973 Mustang Mach I, it may fit the bill as that was a good looking car to me and the year my wife was born.

Nice car! The '65 Chevelles are sexy too.
To quench my ego's "I have arrived" vehicle: I may never "arrive" though. The Boss isn't sold on the idea yet.
