My bed light does not turn on in motion. Any work-around for this? (22 MY). I don’t understand the logic to not allow illumination of the bed while driving???
If you are are talking about the light mounted above the rear window, the light would bother any driver following you. It is illegal to have a rear facing white light.
If you are talking about the lighted mounted in the bed side wall near the tailgate then I can't think of a reason it can't be on while in motion.

At least in my state that would probably be considered a potential distraction, similar to underbody lights. Not legal to have on while in motion.
That said, I can turn on my cargo light while in motion - I think - on my Power Wagon. Haven't tried it on the wife's truck.
I don't have anything constructive to add but things like this are my biggest problem with new vehicles. They put a computer between the control input and output when there is no advantage to the user. It is just another potential point of failure. What makes it worse is the designers seem to have tied all the computer nannies into a single point of failure that could turn your truck into a giant paperweight.

True, but the advantage on a light is the computer will shut it off after several minutes. Could save a dead battery if driver forgot to turn off.

Yep - the one on the high mount stop light. On my last truck I could flip it on to check a load at night. I wish I could remotely turn on the box lights then. Maybe I can do something creative with a light and an upfitter switch.

With my truck not coming with bed lights, that's what I did. I added some leds to the blank off plates and hooked them to upfitter #2. I'm probably going to change it from #2 to #5 though as I kind of wish I didn't need the truck to be in the on position for them to work.
