I found to be a bit too big the play of the drive shaft at the extension housing so I replaced it with a new bushing. Not the same type I've used as there was in ( it was the teflon version no channels just one hole if I am right ). The mechanic who installed the new bushing into the housing put it in with the hole faced down. I did think it was wrong but he secured me it was fine. So I installed it. After few miles it started to produce a terrible sound coming from under the van. I drove maybe 100 miles since it was not better maybe even worse I removed the whole thing again. The bushing looked really bad. See picture. Ive istalled one new bushing the opposite way. Hole upwards ( lines perfectly with the chanel in the housing ). Now it makes exactly the same crazy noise. What do I do wrong? Its a 1996 E250 2WD 5.8 and I miss it already very much.
