Neighbor brought me a E4OD transmission to look at, he removed it from his 95 F-250 2wd truck, 5.8L gas engine.
Pulled the extension housing off and immediately found the issue. The thrust bearing between the case and output shaft/parking pawl had come apart and the parking pawl had damaged the case. output shaft had nearly 1/2" of movement.
pulled the transmission apart, all the clutch packs are burned to a crisp and the case is damaged beyond repair.
