Transfer Case Control Module
2001 Ford F150 4x4 Electronic Shift 5.4l SOHC FI

Trying to buy a Transfer Case Control Module
but dont know which part # to buy with out removing it
If I do that could be down for a while
Any one help on thins

Are you talking about a Borg Warner 4406 Transfer Case motor? See below...
Are you talking about a Borg Warner 4406 Transfer relay? #F85B-14B194-CA
Are you talking about a Borg Warner 4406 Transfer Case Control Module? If so they are part of the GEM and the GEM is specific to SOTF or manual T/case and they do not swap. You will have to use your VIN to determine the correct GEM for your truck. It sets behind the under-the-dash fuse box. Depending on if your 4x4 is a stick shift gear to place it in 4x4 or electric is these part numbers.

Now notice that the only difference is last LETTERS are reversed and you could call Rock auto or any parts store online and ask them. Choose accordingly for the Cardone unit to replace with the right system you have.
The electrical motor that places the transfer case in 2 wheels, 2high, or 4low?
If you are it has a Rectangular Plug with 7 Pins and bolts to the transfer case.
Cardone Part number 48-216 is about $125.00 with about $35-$40 core and as high as $150.00
Dorman Part number 600-802 around $105.00

Three bolts that hold it on and depending on how yours is wired maybe a splice or two.

Transfer Case Shift Relay C221 Module is in dash near radio not under the fuse box
When switching 4x4 I can hear the relays clicking and this diagram show it
