Pinhole Leak! Help needed.

I joined to this site long time ago but my 97 f250 HD with 5.8 and 350k miles have been treating me so nicely that I didn't really wondered around in here. Until now! lol

I would really appreciate it if someone can chime in to help me out with this issue.

The part that screws into the block is leaking. It is right in between the air intake and the dist cap. Almost right on top of the thermostat housing.
You can see the JB-Welded on the pictures. Thats it!
2 hoses connects to it. One goes to the other side of the block, and the second one to the cabin, for the heater core.

Any tips/tricks I should know about this issue before I get in there?

Thank you again?

That looks like a bugger to replace. I think I might cut the bigger tube off at two inches away from the nipple and reattach it with silicone tubing and clamps after I turned it into the intake.

I think I will need to take off the throttle body, which is something I have never done before! This will be fun!

Get a new throttle body gasket before you do because you will need it. It's only 4 bolts to get it off and you can clean the inside and the butterfly valves while you are in there. Throttle body cleaner or contact cleaner (which I prefer when used on a rag) to clean it up. You can remove the distributor cap out of the way to get more access to the part you need to replace. You could also buy a package of JBWeld and repair the pinhole. Follow the JB directions for best results

Sorry so late, couldnt find definite, answer. So heres my best S.W.A.G.
We have 2 that fit our trucks with 351w(5,8L), and they, thread in, I couldnt say for sure which you have, my F150 is the horseshoe
Motorcraft® KT81 - HVAC Heater Pipe <-- this one is straight
Motorcraft® KT84 - HVAC Heater Pipe <-- this one is horseshoe (for lack of better word)

the 302(5.0L) is a press in, with orings.

so I finally had time to play with it a little bit.
I was able to kind of clean it with a rag and roughened it with sandpaper then JB Welded it.
It is extremely ugly looking and I am not expecting it to be permanent. But it should do the trick while I figure out how to take care of this properly. still looking for the proper part.

Its one of those, above, yours either has almost straight pipe,
or the horseshoe pipe look, and both of those has threads, to screw into top of intake manifold, on 5.8L, the 5.0L presses in and 2 orings help it not leak out.
