I was under the truck today replacing my block heater cord and I noticed that I have a small leak running down that side of the block, looked like it had started well up above the block heater plug, maybe even all the way up toward the turbo pedestal...
I know I see so many on here who've replaced the pedestal and deleted the ebpv...is that a likely culprit? Anything else I should be looking at as I invstigate? I'm digging in to do glowplugs this weekend or next so any help of where to look and what to look for is appreciated!
I’d grab a small light and slide it in the valley and look for oil pooling especially towards the turbo and pedestal.
Remember only OEM GP’s, UVCH etc.
The first one was as high up as I could reach with my hand and phone to take the picture...but the leak trail goes up even higher...If you are saying to look for pooling in the valley what would that suggest is the leak?
If it is the pedestal, I want to eventually add a billet wheel, and delete the ebpv, but don’t have the funds presently...how pressing of need is a leak like this? Could it wait a few months until funds are replenished and weather is warm?

‘It would indicate a leak by pedestal or turbo. Definitely pay attention to your oil level.
Great! lol
Without straying too far from the task at hand (glowplugs and uvch) any of them easy enough to just do as preventative maintenance while I'm in there?
The only ones i can think of without straying are the ones on the ccv (aka doghouse). All the others require removing other parts. About a dozen on the fuel bowl alone. Turbo pedestal is notorious for leaking

My fuel bowl and drain were replaced last year when I had a bad fuel leak...the pedestal I'm going to do when I can eventually afford to do the ebpv delete pedestal, up pipes, exhaust, and compressor wheel...hopefully this summer...
Already have the CCV ones in preparation for the glow plugs..
