Hey guys new here and hoping you can help. I tried searching and didn't find an answer to what I was looking for (may not have worded it correctly). But my dad passed away in June and left me his 1993 f150 extended cab long bed. The truck is nothing at all to look at but he loved this thing and had tons of money into it. New engine, trans, rear end, both fuel systems, exhaust etc.
But he had his own way of doing things that I didn't understand sometimes. He hated any kind of ce lights or anything that indicated a problem. So his answer was to cover everything up! I replaced the clear face for the gauges. But he has some red transparent tape over the lights under the gauge cluster on both sides and I'm trying to figure out what they are and what I need to return it to factory. It also doesn't have a gauge bezel (which I have also ordered). I took some pics and I'm hoping I can get them posted. Thanks for any help.
Thank you very much. Is there some sort of cover that I can put over these to see what is lighting up? Or will the dash bezel have that? From your description the battery light was on when I got the truck and it always started very slowly. I noticed that the voltage regulator wire was very loose barely making contact on the alternator. Fixed that and the light is off now. Appreciate the help!
This is a link to LMC truck. I don't know where you purchased yours from, but it should come with those covers.
If your truck doesn't have airbags, then yes, that light would probably be the battery light and loose wires on the voltage regulator would cause that.
