Gauge pods

I've seen the pillar gauge pods and I like them but it would seem that the their lights would be bothersome at night. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or has seen them at night. Just curious before I spend my money or time. Thanks

Lights on gauges are simply wired to a positive lead. It's simple enough to place a switch in-line or even a rheostat.

I used a simple radio shack $1.99 12V switch on a motorcycle I used to have to turn off some VDO gauges I had mounted. Worked great.

It's really trivial.

Thanks Bob,so you're saying that you don't burn them like your regular dash lights? That sounds good. I'm wanting to put some mechanical gauges in the truck, and the pod seemed like a good out of the way spot.

On my bike, I just wired the lights to a hot switched lead and put the switch in line ahead of the gauges.

Kinda funny, but the second bike I put them on (a honda pc800), Randell Hendricks
(the first Ironbutt 100CCC rider) hooked them up to a turn signal lead - was pretty
interesting when I hit the first corner at night!!!

Took a minute or two to switch them to another lead.

Piece of cake.
