Good day. I have a 2020 F-250 short bed crew cab 4x4 with a gas 6.2 ltr. From the factory it has a DEF tank on it for some reason, nothing else for the DEF just the tank. The main gas tank is I think 34 gallons. I want to know if and who to get it from an extended range tank for this truck. I understand a diesel extended tank will fit but I'm told it can't be installed by a shop because it is on a gas truck. Can a in bed tank be hooked up to gravity feed the main tank like on diesel's? Any problems besides rollover fires?
Thanks for any information
Gasoline is a lot more volatile than diesel which makes it problematic. That’s why you don’t see bed tanks for gasoline like you do for diesel.
Titan makes larger tanks that are meant to replace the OEM tanks that will give you the extra capacity you are looking for but they are expensive and you have to keep an eye on your available payload as each gallon weighs about 6.3lbs.
