I have recently acquired a 2002 Excursion with a V10 and 251k miles. The previous owner said it needed a transmission solenoid pack. I ordered a refurbished pack and replaced it and changed fluid and filter. There was no improvement. Light on shifter was still flashing and trans was not functioning correctly. I hooked up a code reader and am getting the following codes: P0743 P0755 P1747 P1451 P0443. I have checked the wiring from solenoid pack to connector near ecm. 8 wires had continuity and the 9th wire had continuity with 4 pins and 2 other pins showed approx. 1000 on my meter. When I drive it with everything connected it seems that 1st and 3rd lack power and 2nd gear seems to run fine. When I disconnect the solenoid pack 3rd and 1st seem to run fine and it feels like there is nothing in 2nd gear. Light on shifter stays blinking when the wires are connected and when they are disconnected. Any help will be appreciated.
You have a bunch of electrical codes. That always means a major problem in the wiring harness. You need to check from the PCM to the transmission connector on the passenger's side of the transmission.
I see that you checked continuity on part of the harness. You need to check the entire harness, Also, check each wire for continuity to ground and to power. Open circuits are not the only problem, the insulation can get worn off and cause a short.
I replaced fuse 23 with a new one. No change. Same codes and shifter light still flashing. I have a donor excursion wit a blown motor, but trans was working fine. Is it worthwhile to swap trans wiring harness?
Did you replace F23 because it was blown or just replace it anyway (why?)?
Did you check for additional codes as i suggested might be possible?
I replaced fuse 23 as a precaution. My multimeter was dead so I could not check the original fuse(it looked good). I cleared codes and started the vehicle. The same 5 codes came up on the reader.
