Good evening everyone, my 88 250 is leaking from the front tank (only tank) a nice steady drip. It dosent look all that bad but i can see some rust, there is a plastic cover type thing on the front where it seems to be dripping from (ill try to go grab a pic in a few) From what i have read repairing it dosent seem to be a real viable option, and while replacement tanks are pretty cheap (100 for a black one and 150 for a silver one) I really would rather put a plastic one in there and be done with it, is that an option?
You will probably be able to get one at a salvage yard if there is one in your area. The leaking on yours may be at the pump access where there is probably a gasket.

What tanks will fit? And which trucks came with plastic tanks from the factory? I don't mind doing a little bit of fab work if needed
I feel your wallets pain. But I don't regret having everything working and the reliability I enjoy. The 10 MPG is a tough pill but at least it's regular.
