X2 on the need of more information.
How does it start when cold?
When it dies, will it restart?
With the air cleaner off, will the choke plate open progressively as the engine warms up?
How long have you had this engine? Just want to verify you are not new to a carburated engine

1. Ignition switch got turned off
2. Ran out of gas
3. Vapor locked
4. Run without oil and seized.
5. Ran without coolant and seized.
6. Battery cable fell off
7. Wiring shorted
8. Points dirty
9. Capacitor bad
10. Wiring open
