CPP Frame Mounted Brake Booster ?

I emailed CPP twice in one week - No answer! Then called them the next week - Asked with proportioning valve PV24AH running disc/disc do I still need an "adjustable" proportioning valve or any "residual" checks ? His answer was - No, bolt in & go. What do you think?

I think the disc/drum and disc/disc are ready to go for the respective set ups. I have the disc/drum from CPP.

You should be fine with the proportioning valve provided. If you had drums MAYBE yiu would want to be able to further adjust the bias but probably unnecessary.

You are not racing it so super refined bias adjustments are not necessary. That said…

Once it is all together take it out and do some panic stops to see when the rear brakes lock up. Whether you want front bias, which will be more likely to under steer, or rear bias which is more likely to oversteer, is ultimately the decision. I believe with the supplied proportioning valve you should have some front brake bias with the rears locking up just after the fronts. If you don’t like how the bias is set then you can add an additional valve….

….given how much weight transfer there is to the front and the light rear on a pick up I would lean towards front bias so the a$$ end doesn’t come swinging around on you if the rear brakes lock up first.

Good luck!

Frame mounted booster....theoretically above the calipers, but not necessarily so.

Short version from the link below:

"Most disc brake systems do not require a residual valve. However, a 2-psi Residual Valve is used when the master cylinder is lower than the calipers."

if you use residual check valves use:
2 PSI for Disk Brakes (Blue)
10 PSI for Drum Brakes (Red)

Colors are typical.
