Bed Realignment

Curious if any of you have realigned your bed and if it is very difficult to do. I have the 8 ft bed. Specifically what I'd like to do is shift the bed towards the passenger side about 3/8 inch at the back end to get better tire/axle to bed alignment (which is off). Is it possible to move it that much? Is it just a matter of removing the bolts and shifting/sliding the bed to one side, then reinstalling new bolts? I see there are a couple of plastic alignment pegs next to the front bolts, are they present at the other bolt locations? Any other considerations?

Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

If there are no pins in the rear, you should be able to do as you talking about. I wouldn't worry about new bolts, but that's my opinion.

We took my sons bed off - get the socket, take bolts out, lift off, back on the pins, wiggle wiggle, tighten and done. It's harder to change some spark plugs.

Were there plastic alignment pins at each bolt location? I was hoping just to remove bolts and slide the bed slightly and not lift, if possible. Thanks.

I don't recall, but I'm thinking there are 4 plastic pin locations. If you are only trying slide it a little I wouldn't remove the bolts, just loosen them and see what you can get.

Plastic pins are only on the pass side, front and back of the bed. I did a post about adding a fifth wheel hitch. Look atthe posts I've started in my profile, the pics are in that thread and you can probably see um.

If you want to align the bed you'll have to remove those pins. There's not much wiggle room with them in

Thanks for the info y'all. Very helpful. Now I just have to figure out how I will slide it sideways once I get the bolts loosened up and pins removed.

Why is your bed out of alignment?

If there is little wiggle room as @Norcalpr posted you might have a bent frame or the rear axle may have shifted.

It seems pretty common. Mine is off by about 1/2". You can tell looking at the mud flaps in relation to the tires.

Push on it? The bed isn't heavy at all, and you could lift if off if you have about 4 or 6 people... the holes are all larger than the bolts so there's a lot of room to move it once everything is loose and the pins are gone.

Sorry, should have been more clear. Loosen bolts and there is adjustment available. No need to lift.

My 17' is off too. Dealer said it's within the margin of error and won't align.
