Fuel pump question

I'm shaping my 5.8 from efi to carb. I know but I have my reasons. My question is can I run my low pressure in tank fuel pump to its own circuit on a ignition hot to push fuel to my aftermarket in line pump I'm using for the carb system? And does it normally stay running while the engine is running to constantly push fuel to the high pressure in line pump for the efi? Or does it only give the HP pump an initial boost? My desire is to eliminate all the pcm and eec control from the operation of the engine. If I can give the LP pump it's own circuit and call it good that would make my life alot easier.

Could switch it to mechanical if it’s something you are wanting.

I would def like to not have to go mechanical if I can help it. I don't want to change my timing chain cover. My main goal is to keep the in tank LP pump without the efi wiring harness. Is it safe to connect it to its own circuit without a relay?
