I've installed everything to spec using a low flow 2 - 3.5 psi pump.
When the pump is TURNED ON the engine will turn over but won't start.
However, when the pump is TURNED OFF but has already delivered fuel down the line, the engine starts without issue (immediately) and runs for 15 or 20 secs until starved; fuel runs out.
Question: Is the issue too little pressure from the pump? Something else?
Lots of possibilities. A 2-3.5 psi pump may be delivering very little pressure to the carb depending on its placement and how well the plumbing is routed.
It could be some electrical issue - maybe you have it wired into the ignition circuit and it is causing a voltage drop which is insufficient for the ignition to work. Or maybe there is some drop to the pump while the engine is cranking.
I think it's electrical. If the pump were not sufficient to start the engine, then it simply would not start no matter the condition. Keeping it running, that could be a different story.
and... you're right sir! user error on install. #85 of the switch wasn't to ground but instead to accessory. that correction see's her back on the road. thx!
