F-450 Observations

Have racked up about 1000 miles on the new truck (F-450 King Ranch) - wondering about build quality experiences, since that seems to have been at least somewhat of an issue with Ford lately - at least that’s my perception from lots of reading and watching.

In my case, I’ve been so far very impressed with my truck’s build quality. The door panels, and exterior panel junctions all look really square and aligned. Paint and trim pieces look amazing I’ve yet to find a flaw in any. As for I interior fit and finish the stitching all looks perfect, seals are all nicely aligned. Driving experience is awesome so far - not a single rattle, and it’s surprisingly quiet. The 6.7 engine and drive train are just money - so much power and very smooth. And freeway driving unloaded fuel mileage right at 20mpg so far. Fingers crossed - but it’s just been very complete from a quality and driving experience.

Everyone else finding the same??

Same here with the exception of the mileage. Did you calculate that manually or are you trusting the lie-o-meter?

LOL - the lie-o-meter….. I did not realize it may be that inaccurate. I’ll do a tank and calculate.

My experience has not been as positive.
Panel gaps, especially the driver side hood to fender gap, is big enough to stick your finger in.
Fuel door paint has a cloudy spot in it.
Going to body shop on the 28th.
Ride at first was not too good, but has smoothed out some.
Have rattles going over bumps that I can't track down, will be asking them to check that when it goes to the shop.
As to the fuel economy readout, mine has been stuck on 12.6 MPG for about 4 days now, and I know it is not right because most of the miles have been unloaded highway, where the instant readout has been over 20 almost constantly, and the miles to empty isn't following either.
Another thing for the service dept to check out.
When the mileage readout was working, it was 1-2 MPG higher than actual measured MPG.

Same experience with mine, everything's been great. I haven't gotten 20mpg though. I've seen 17.3. I'm right at 1k miles.
