noise

i have a 2016 f 250 6.2 l upon start up it sounds like a spark knock or like something is arcing when it warms up it quiets down some but still does it the sound comes from both side of the engine any help would be grateful

Could be piston slap. If it is coming from both sides of the engine that's about all I can think it would be.

Are you in the salt belt? Exhaust manifolds come to mind and are prone to rotting, especially when you say arcing sound (which to me means ticking) that gets quieter as it warms up.

I also thought about this, but he mentioned it's on BOTH sides so I didn't mention it. Generally speaking manifolds/bolts don't go bad on both sides at the same time.
