Good morning! I have a 2011 escape XLT with the 2.5 liter. We have noticed a significant engine vibration when in gear, at idle with the AC on. The vibration is there with the AC off but not as much. I have replaced all engine mounts and the transmission mount. I did my best to ensure a neutral load on all motor mounts. It did not make any difference. Idle seems normal around 700-750 when in gear. The throttle body was cleaned a while back. There are no engine codes.
My next step is going to be to clean the throttle body again or replace it as it smells to me like its running a little rich but other wise drives fine. Do y'all have any opinions on what to look at? From what I have found online on other forums it is a common problem but I haven't found a real solution.
Have you checked plugs? They can cause idle to not be smooth and still not throw a check engine light.
I haven't checked plugs yet. Plugs have 54k on them and it otherwise drives fine but I will check. If I hold the brake and increase the throttle to bring it up to about 1000 rpm it will smooth out.
