I have a 1999 f150 lariat with the 5.4 and auto transmission. The 4x4 works with the turn switch on the dashboard. 4x4 hasn't worked for a while and I suspect it is the transfer case shift relay. Took the relay out and brought it to the dealership, they say the part is obsolete and no longer offered through ford. Is this a part I could get out of a pick and pull or would that cause compatibility issues if it is not the exact same one? Is it similar enough to take from certain years or other trim levels? Would it just be easier to order one off a website, (any good ones?). Would appreciate any input.
