Replacement Connector for Fuel Selector Valve
in tank Fuel Senders, Shower heads and the Fuel selector Switch over Valve.
I had a problem with the factory plug connector for the Valve. It wouldn`t go in all
the way and then I broke off one the 2 plastic clips.
The original factory valve has 5 flat pins, and then the after market pollack and
Standard valves use a round pin and a different connector.
Then the market is flooded with the knock off chicom Ford copies, and they use a flat pin.
The OEM Ford valve is around $400, and the knock off`s $50 - $75.
I bought one of the Chicom valves.
With all that said, I headed off to PNP crawling under a bunch of old 150`s and 250`s to
find the same connector. Finally found one, cut back into the harness both ways to get
as much wire as I could.
Here is a random picture of the connector .
This shows the color code of the wires, your year model may be different IDK. This picture is of a 150 as I remember.
When I wired in the PNP connector, I used weather pack plugs. 3 wires got forward and 2 as I remember go to the fuel
tank senders. I wired it this way just in case if I ever have to change the valve out and can only find a pollack valve, I
can have a separate pig tail made up to plug in. Sort of plug and play.
When I did the tank swap 2 years ago I searched for a new connector, and only found one online but about $30.
So the PNP one has been just fine. But lately the damn valve has not been switching, I was thinking maybe the
connector is the problem, and found a few on E-bay, and bought one. I arrived today, and it is a Standard #S544.
It is actually from Parts Geek. I came across this site Googling the Standard part#, for $14.
https://www.autopartskart.com/sku/si...gaAlhgEALw_wcB
Click on the Ford button and it shows the years it fits, 83 - 97. Some E-bay sites list it only for 08 - 16 or something like that.
The wires on the connector are all black, so you just have to connect wire for wire starting on one end.
Here is an OB Thread for the 86 F250 6.9 listing what wire goes where.

89 has different colors on all wires, but it should still be the same circuits.
My '89 for reference
So here Iam ordering it off E-Bay, which is Parts Geek, but
user name is autopartsgeek. and I still paid $29.38 for the
stupid piece of plastic.

It was after seeing the Standard brand and part# S544 I did
the Google search using that number, I now find them cheaper.
I could have bought 2 for the same price through the site I
posted above.
I guess I didn`t use the right search name? IDK But hope this
helps some one.
