Hood hinge is sprung
Hooler, Stuart, called me and tried to talk me through how he undid his hinge arm while it was in the truck. It was good talking with another FTE'er. Thanks Hooler.
Try as I might I couldn't get the arm in the right position even with a ball peen hammer. Then I realized that I had to move the bent arm (the lower hinge hole arm) clockwise to get it behind the straight one.
So I took the spring off. The big pipe didn't help. I put my foot on the spring, used a big screw driver to pry and unhook the spring hook and then a big pliers to pull the hook up and away. After I got hinge arm in the right position I did use the pipe thing to twist the spring back on.
After all this I kept my spare hinge on the truck. Thanks everyone.

Hopefully I will get to Truckstock someday. But this got me thinking about how great it could be if we all got to meet each other at least over the phone sometime. While I had Abe on the phone the other night I picked his brain about some other truck problems I was having and some a friend is having, which I will post about soon. It was a great conversation! Earlier this year 56panelford John, helped me out immensely with a vent window frame problem I was having. He was very, very generous with his time, and his parts! I will always appreciate how he stepped in to help me out of a mess that I created myself. I know there are more stories out there. Good Ford truck people doing what is needed for each other. I know some folks like the anonymity. Me? I am from a small town where we even know who lets their cat out at night. So if you get an opportunity to personally call a fellow FTE'er do it! It's amazing how good it feels to create a stronger network of friends especially with those who have the same thing in common. Old Ford Trucks!
