Blower not working Don't seem to be getting power AT the blower. Can't figure out how to remove the control assembly to test it. Any pointers on removal and troubleshooting? Truck is a 1969 - heater only. Confirmed fuse on main block is good.
UPDATE - someone was clearly mucking around with the radio - they stole power from the blower to power the radio... WTF. Anyways, the brown lead is back in place to the blower switch and it works now. However where should I be feeding power to the radio from? I don't see it on any wiring diagrams or the fuse block.
These are pics of a 70 harness out of a part truck and this part is identical to my 72 harness.
There is an orange with white stripe wire coming out of the back of the wipers switch. It goes to a 3-way plug. The gray wire runs to the radio.
Backed out a little bit you can see it has an inline fuse on the way to the radio. This is an A/M radio.
Thats where it goes into the radio and the other two wires run to a plug for the speaker. It is probably the same on a 69 but I couldnt see wire colors on a schematic.
I did want to repair some wiring on my AM radio as well (someone used wire nuts on the speaker connection) but I can't figure out how to get it OUT of the dash? The **** brackets prevent it from coming out through the face of the dash...
The radio in my pic was missing the *****. But I checked out the radio in my 70 f250 driver and the ***** just pull straight off. They are two pieces. But you have to get into a bunch of stuff first. Its been a while since I pulled that radio. I think you have to move your heater duct tubing, its in the way. There is a bracket from dash to the firewall need to take out. Then the heater controls have to come out. Then the radio bracket and the two nuts behind the radio *****. I think that is it from what I can see in my truck.
