My 2020 ( which has the 10speed) gets almost 2 mpg better than my 2017 truck. They are both configured the same ( leveling, LT295 tires, tonneau cover etc)
It has been pretty consistently better mileage than the previous truck regardless of what I'm doing, Towing, driving empty and I'm hitting 24,000 miles now.
I see it most when towing my horse trailer. My 2017 truck got 10.6 mpg when I hooked up that trailer. I have regular gotten 12 mpg towing this summer with the same trailer.
I did a couple mpg runs empty to see what the best I could get. 70 mph No start/no stop 200 mile trips = 23 mpg. I know the truck can do it, But there is no way I see that on a day to day use of the truck.
If you are seeing a drop in mileage right now, I'd blame it on Winter Fuel hitting the market. I know the refineries in Utah all switch to winter diesel in October.
You guys that get to drive in the flat land suck LOL. I live next to a mountain range and I have to climb them every time I go somewhere. There is one on the east and west of me. Not much flat land unless I go south or north. LOL

I hear you on the flat land driving Bone but the start of the Appalachians here in WNY is what keeps my truck happy as a daily driver and no load.
.I lost a couple miles per gallon when I went from my 2015 F350 CCLB SRW to my 2019 F350 CCLB DRW. Now that I don't have my truck camper any longer I don't need the DRW so I ordered a 2022 F350 CCLB SRW back in June. It just arrived at the rail yard in Kent WA last night and I should get it later this week. I hope to get a bump in MPG back to at least what the got, if not better.
Working with the dealer on trade in price now on the 2019. I have cash offers from several Ford dealers for over $70k and the new one will cost about $72K with xplan and my $3000 PCO from Ford. Ordered pretty much the same truck minus the DRW, Moonroof and Adaptive Steering which is holding up 2022 orders if included.
