I did the install myself and followed the instructions to the T. I have read many other horror stories about the TS chips as well. I would agree with you if the issue started right when I installed the chip the first time but that wasn't the case.
I would consider the Hydra but not 100% sold yet. Either way, the injectors would come first since I would have the chip set for whatever injectors I choose to install. I definitely do my research especially after being burned on the TS chip.
Yes and no. You will have to pay for a Hydra either way you go. You will just have to pay more on top of that for any tunes from a specific tuner. You can use the Hydra with the stock tunes for now then add updated tunes when you upgrade the injectors and the overall price will not change.
Sounds like the TS got a crack in it or something.
Weird on the TS. Mine works fine, albeit I have custom tunes on mine. Agreed on using the Edge for monitoring purposes only. That is what I do with my Insight.
With what you are after you would do much better with the injectors you are throwing around with a t4 setup and a s366sxe. Stock turbo frame stuff are just bandaid over bullet wounds. That 5er is a big sail...you need powaaa
I went with the Hydra tunes a couple months ago as soon as I finished my downpipe, I seriously regret not doing that right away but live and learn....best 300 bucks I have spent it makes the truck so much more fun to drive.
If your running stock tunes you will be impressed with a hydra set up. My truck on tunes that come with the tuner is like a different truck altogether. Pulling my toy hauler which wasn't bad without a tune is amazing now and that is with just the 40HP heavy tow tune. I can actually pass vehicles now when I need to. Its 300 bucks and easy to install and you can update it in the truck.

Hydras can be updated in the truck with a laptop so you can add custom tunes for changes as you go
I may have missed it, did you decide on an injector size?
Considering the hybrid 200/30. From everything I have read it is the best bet especially if you are not upgrading the HPOP. I plan to do the eFuel upgrade when I do the injectors.
