Looking for an OBS. Can an OBS reasonably fit a 3.5 or 4” down pipe? Without cutting and welding in new firewall pieces or a body lift? I have a van turbo and would like to delete the EBPV using the Beans outlet. But it goes to a SD down pipe flange. I have the SD DP, I just don’t have the engine and transmission in yet to check.
Unless you’re going for 800+ horsepower theres no need. The 3 inch dp is plenty and MUCH less work. There would be much modifying involved for anything bigger
99-03 van turbo:
-shares the same compressor housing and internals with the 99+ - 03 SD, except for no waste gate.
-uses a 3 bolt EBPV housing that reduces down to the OBS outlet side. The EBPV housing is not interchangeable with the OBS turbine housing.
-for use on a SD, Beans sells and EBPV housing that mates with the SD down pipe.
-van spyder for 99+ adapts directly to the larger SD intake plenums, however this spyder will not work with an intercooler. It's a larger version of the OBS spyder, but has a port that can be adapted for a boost gauge.
