i'm not seeing much on the hooternet about replacing these sprayer nozzles on our trucks. they are not on the hood like a lot of vehicles, so it looks to be more of a challenge. any links dor how to videos or general advice appreciated.
They say cowl has to come off, or at least remove all 7-8 screws, under hood, I would attempt, to clean nozzle out, with tip cleaner for acetylene torch, and remove hose, at reservoir, and back flush with air, or garden hose sprayer, then last resort only, remove cowl. I can just see the horror the northern members would have, maybe even resort to washer fluid in a spray bottle, before seeing how many screws dont break.
Removing the cowl is just time consuming. Try not to wallow the sprayer opening with a pin or anything. I use compress air if there is a blockage and dump the washer tank.
Picked up a '95, Eddie Bauer, that someone had used a large pic or needle to clear the blockages and it ruined them. I bought 2 Motorcraft sets for 2 of my trucks. Was $10, 5 years ago at the dealer.
You can replace them without pulling the cowl, but it is tedious. Don't loose the hose when you disconnect the nozzle.
I found that Ford/Motorcraft work far better than aftermarket as far as replacements go. I wouldn't bother trying to clean them, considering how cheap they are.
