i think the louvers on these old trucks (and cars) look really good and are not as intrusive as a scoop is to the clean lines of these classics. scoops on these trucks always look out of place for some reason on the gorgeous lines of these old classics.
my 2 cents.

I'd have to agree with Mike on this one, the trucks I've seen with hood scoops have look a bit silly. Thats just my opinion though, don't let it stop you from putting a hood on your truck if thats what you want, afterall, its your truck you need to build it to please you.
As for the reverse tilt hood, I think one of the members here has it, right off the top of my head I don't remember who though. Its harder to do on the 48-52 trucks as the front of the hood will either need to raise or slide forward a significant amount to clear the rest of the sheet metal. As far as I know there isn't an aftermarket kit for the 48-52 trucks, you would have to fab your own.
We're glad you found us, this is a great site full of phenomenal people with a huge range of talent. The neat part is that they are always willing to help you out by offering advice, answering questions (most of the time correctly even), giving out information, badgering you, teasing you mercilessly, etc, etc ,etc. As long as you have a good sense of humor you should be in great shape. Once you get settled in try your hand at setting up a gallery. We'd alllove to check out your project.
Welcome aboard
