1988 bronco II ,210,000 mile . pretty sure my transmission finally let go . No symptoms out of the blue todayJumps out of OD and will not go into 3rd gear. No down shift to 2nd. I can do a 1 to 2 shift then goto 4th .hard to get into rev.
Bought this brand new its like part of the family
Anyone know of a source for rebuilt ?

2WD or 4? Any good transmission shop should be able to rebuild that unit (It's either a mazda M5OD, or a mitsubishi 5spd. They both have their known issues, but it sounds like you had a bearing fail causing a misalignment of the intermediate shaft. You can probably even find a kit online and do it yourself. A manual transmission is a pretty simple machine.
Pulled transmission and found the retainer bolts on the output shaft had backed out and one had been sheared off. ordered a rebuild kit . Waiting on all the parts to come in.
Areas of concern input and output shaft pilot bearing bearing surface. hope to have that resolved soon.
