While not cheap, I've been really happy with the 2" Bullet Proof Hitch on my 06. Will be ordering a 3" when the 2022 arrives. I also heard that Bulletproof is developing their own Weight Distribution/sway control hitch too! I agree, their slogan is it is the last hitch you will buy. Which partially is false because going from an 06 (2" shank) to a 2022 (3" shank), I will end up buying two BP hitches.
I too have a bulletproof hitch and it is very nice👍🏻

I paid $50 for the Bulletproof locking straight hitch pin… saying that, is the Bulletproof hitches really that much better than the B&W hitches?
I’ll be buying a new Anderson WDH once my truck gets here since it will have the 3” receiver and I’m on the fence about getting another hitch since the Anderson can be used as a normal hitch as long as the ball is the needed size. So I may have to get another hitch… I was going back and forth between the bulletproof and the B&W. They both seem to get great reviews but the B&W is a bit less expensive. Just wondering if the Bulletproof has added benefits over the B&W?
I have run a curt 2 inch 14K reduced from 3 inch with 2 spacers and now a curt 2.5 inch reduced from 3. Neither have had slop.
I suspect the issue isn’t that the hole is too big but your shaft is both too short and too narrow, I have used my old aluminum Anderson and it was sloppy.
