Center diff won't stay in 2HI

Hi, anyone else have an issue with their center diff popping out of 2HI? Will stay engaged in 4HI and 4LO. Started years ago, swapped out the mounting bushings, and that worked for a year or two. Thanks in advance.

I ran a bungee cord around the lever to a seat fastener. Jerry rig but worked. With the np205 now no issue.

im suspecting I put a shift collar in backwards in the old dana24, see image below, have yours been gone through?. I can’t recall if d24’s have shift collars like in pic. Maybe that or the rod detents have wallered.

Thanks. No. Hasn't been opened up or any work done. Hadn't thought about a bungee or anything to hold it in gear. May give that a try while I look for parts.

It's a transfer case, not a center differential.

There are such things as center diffs, in all wheel drive applications. But your truck does not have one.

Yeah. It's worn out. Rebuild it or put a bungee cord around the shifter.
