I agree that the wires on the "starter" side of the solenoid look out of place. My guess is the should be on the "hot" or side of the solenoid, but I guess that depends on what they feed.
Also I'm curious, what does the black cable from the positive post that runs down in between the battery and horn run to? Auxiliary battery on drivers side?
I think you are referring to the wire that goes down to the winch.
I think I see your issue. The black with yellow trace wire feeds the cab and should be connected to the hot/battery side of the solenoid.
Also, what do the other wires on the starter side feed. (Voltage regulator?) The only thing on that side on ours goes to the starter. I think most of your wires are on the wrong side of the solenoid.
See picture below.
Our cab feed (black with yellow trace) is runs to an inline fuse as part of our 3G alternator upgrade.
This is what ours looked like before the 3G swap.
I agree with 77 HOS that you should at least replace the negative clamp. Might as well replace all of them if they look questionable. Also clean up/replace the crimp connections (rings)
I found a place on ebay that makes custom cables for a great price. They are in my first picture. acdcwireandsupply
negative clamp was replaced. All the wiring with eventually get cleaned up, once we figure out what is going on.

this would make sense. I will start by swapping the black and yellow wire. Thank you

swapped wires and have power in the cab. However, the starter only cranks it over once and then nothing. Wondering if it’s the wrong starter now. Or,, maybe the solenoid on the new starter was damaged when we initially had the arcing.
I looked up your Autozone solenoid and I don't think it is the correct one and it may be fried. I would start by getting the correct one. Probably a F496 (Autozone #)
Also replace any iffy wiring/cables and give it a go.
Make sure your negative battery cable is disconnected when you connect everything else.

yep, the one that was in the first box was wrong. We got the correct one from advanced auto parts and installed it.
