Steering wheel off center
Steering wheel off center
So far I'm not super impressed with Ford quality control. I have a small scratch on the dash and the seam with the border around the center screen is uneven. I can live with those issues but my steering wheel is also off center by about 5 to 10 degrees right so with the wheel straight, the truck drifts left. My OCD won't accept this situation so I will be taking it to the dealership under warranty but from passed experience, a poor maintenance department can fix one problem and create two more. This is probably my last Ford.
The steering wheel being off a little seems to be common. My 19 was and still is. It's not enough to bother be but I'll adjust it myself one of these days. I think you are also talking about the center tray to center surround reveal? If so that has been an imperfection on these trucks for years to greater or lesser degree. Mine is actually pretty even.
I can't say that I will never buy another Ford, but the quality control, recalls and warranty issues haven't wowed me. Luck of the draw I guess, some are near perfect from what I've read 🤷🏻♂️. After those minor issues are resolved who knows, it could end up being the best truck you ever own.

I have an appointment in a couple weeks to fix the steering wheel alignment. Yes, I'm referring to the plastic trim just below the tray. It isn't a big deal but it makes me wonder what other, potentially more substantial imperfections are hiding out of view.
I had a 2001 GMC Sierra for 8 years and the only problem was I wore out the window mechanism. Many of the components seemed more solid than every truck I've had since. Especially the tailgate.
My truck is in shop now and one issue is the crooked steering wheel.
ive seen YouTube videos showing folks DIY at home. It’s simple 3 bolts and turn the shaft.
guy at Ford told me it’ll need an alignment for the “toe”.
truck tracks straight, no issues, but the crooked steering wheel is the issue.

Save yourself the frustration. Take it to an alignment shop and have them do it. The Fords come off the assembly line within spec. Their tolerances are based on driveability. Ford will take all day to perform the work and chances are you will be frustrated.
My 2020 was off to the right. I knew I was going to get an alignment sooner or later. Then I put a Raptor wheel on and the red stripe being off really made me crazy. 1-1-1/2 hours at a shop. Took it back a couple days later because the red stripe was a little off. 30 min and they corrected it. Happy Happy
I've said this before..I knew a man who owned an alignment, shocks suspension shop. Over 40 yrs in business. He told me that with all the car he had purchased new in his lifetime. Only the Cadillac was spot on. He said about a dozen cars.

I feel like no alignment place I have ever used can get this right. I have learned how to shorten one side/lengthen the other to get my wheel on center myself. Drives me bananas and fixing myself is so much easier than taking it back 3 times.
Worth noting that these trucks, with the very low stock caster, are very sensitive to road crown and the wheel will be slightly off center pretty much anytime you are not on a totally flat surface.
